History

Much of Kei's history is shrouded in uncertainty. It is somewhat well known that she began her public career as a small game hunter, moving through the Eorzean city-states and taking jobs for the grand companies and locals alike. When the Calamity struck fourteen years ago, Kei left Vylbrand to explore other parts of the broken land.By the time she was a young adult, she returned to La Noscea and began taking higher-rank work for the Maelstrom. Fading in and out of public view, at the head of various enterprises and working from the shadows, she eventually reemerged in recent years with the foundation of The Iron Company, a chartered Free Company of mercenaries that swiftly earned a small reputation.Having overcome a life-threatening condition at long last, the hunter has continued plying her trade across Eorzea, eagerly seeking the new limits of her potential.

   Fiancee       A mercenary and battlemaster in her own right, Kaiah leads Iron Company with Kei, complimenting Kei's mannerisms on and off the field. Having already seen their fair share of action together, Kei is determined to go on even more adventures with her.

   Rival       A heroic alliance captain and knight of some renown, Kei has known Dawn since she was a bewildered newcomer arrived on the shores of Eorzea. Though not often at each other's sides, the two have grown in unexpected ways over the years.

Cheyda

   Support       A roughly hewn xaela raised by dragons, Cheyda met Kei by chance long ago and joined her company to learn the ways of men. Kei gets on well with Cheyda's blunt and simple sensibilities, having found unexpected family in the terse warrior's heart.

Common Hooks

   Iron Company       Kei leads the mercenary outfit operating under the Maelstrom, which has made a small name for itself performing rescue operations in Garlean territory and putting an end to voidsent infestations inland. Kei can often be seen wearing their emblem.

   Hunting       Kei's clothes, gear, movements, and (rarely) smells clue in other hunters to her profession. Feel free to ask about it and share some harrowing stories if you've got them!

   Doma       There's no getting around the fact that Kei's name and face hint at a far-eastern heritage. Feel free to ask about it, though such a tack might not carry you far on its own.

   The Nameless Sword       If she's carrying her signature blade on her back, a careful eye might notice that it looks pretty unusual for a manatrigger. Seeing her use it should raise even more questions. Feel free to ask about her custom design, though she may not reveal all of her secrets.

   Drinking Buddies       The simplest form of bonding. Got a drink and don't want to drink alone? Ask Kei to join you. Best case, you get a new drinking buddy. Worst case, a fist in the gut.

   A Hunter's Service       Tales and adventures might pass the time at a bar well enough, but some might need more than mere stories. Based out of Ishgard, Kei storefront the Ranger's Reserve sells all kinds of premium animal products, from meat and leather to adventuring supplies.

   Brimming       All aethereally sensitive individuals would know that Kei's aether is vibrant and abounding, but not many would know how feeble it was a few years ago.

   Beneath the Surface       Although generally unassuming upon first glance, rumor and wonder can be heard if one knows where to listen. Some say she's survived the Void, others that she's bested heroes and villains of immense power, or slain beasts of legend. Perhaps not all of it is true, but who can say?

   Coerthan Aid       In recent years, Kei has dedicated some of her time to the defense and service of Ishgard as a mercenary for various orders and private individuals.

   Seeds of Change       Rumor has it that Kei's most recent ambitions involves restoring life to a once-dead forest.
